you know that many Costa Ricans work
just to get by? Their salaries per week are comparable with that of a
restaurant worker salary in the U.S. and when they get to meet a tourist,
they charge their prices in American dollars at the
price of Bahamas prices. This is because country is the most
visited place in Central America with a $1.9 billion/year tourism industry.
More than 50% of the tourists who visit it are from the U.S.
*It is one
of very few with real ecotourism and is one of the most biologically diverse
nations in the world!
*Did you know that this country, when an
investor, student, or missionary tourist decides to live and share their
life style with the citizen peoples (& get to know them better), they earn
the respect in between the local citizens.

Spanish-speaking people and they are very interested in learning
English as a second language, in fact, they think it is urgent! If you don't
speak it when you already have been living abroad for awhile, and they
notice it, they will ask you why are you not yet speaking their language. If

bother expecting answers of why someone never showed up to your home, etc.
because they do not know why...it is just a tradition.

is their style of life and that is the way it is. Patience is a key factor's
land!
*A tradition is to celebrate a whole Holy Week in March/April (for
Easter). Most business are closed and no liquor is sold (by law).

majority of the people have breakfast

Pinto,
and/or fresh juice.
*A fact that the Grandparents receive a special
treatment because they get to raise their grandchildren at their family's
homes until they die.
* For young peoples today is that they hold
long-term relationships at an early age, and some them to
conceive at 15-17 years of age.
*Government assistance for families
(welfare) do not exist in full and they must work, or their parents are
responsible to feed them and provide shelter, etc.
*Almost 85% of
the Ticos and Ticas use a cell phone to communicate with friends, mainly
using text messages.
*If a person from another country is found in
between local people, this person is called "Gringo" (man) or "
Gringa
" (woman), even if the language is not from the U.S. But they say it
with care and love, and is not considered mean or rude.
* AS visitor
is honorable to recede in between Ticos, and the new person gets the best
treatment and respect with consideration.
Did you know that the city
halls are Local Authorities, but without decisions, they rely on the Central
Government. In other words, these local governments are only for
representation of democracy and their employees get paid just to collect
local taxes and maintain the city roads and business directories under
taxable control.

may vary from one business to another in a big way.
*As a businessman
or woman you are allowed to open your own business and work, even if you are
from another country. But, as a stranger you are not allowed to work for a
company as an employee.
* Get to know that more than 90% of this
habitants never hold Euro money in their hands? Even further, they do not
even know what it looks like.
*100% of the country know to
deference the English language from other languages, plus they love the
Dollar coin and they also track the U.S. president's name and the music
available in
English
*The women have more rights that the men, and if a
woman affirms that a man did wrong in any way to her, he gets arrested and
he also has a big chance of loosing his pertinences, in many cases his
freedom too.
*90% of ticos want to visit the U.S. and just for the
curiosity of visiting. But, only two per cent get that dream to come true.
*Did you know the
local ladies love the sound of the Italian
language and in many cases they prefer an Italian boyfriend rather than a
local male?
*It is a Catholic religious territory, and it is the general
tradition. However, still some citizens that change to other religious
tendencies, as they are unsecured of themselves. Many of them have lack
trust from religious leaders in associations or churches other than Catholic
around, so many people come back to the main Catholic church.
*Fact is that today are not many places they can go
and enjoy a new movie (Around 60 movie theaters do exist), so they
usually see
DVD's movies at home with
friends and family.
*Fast food is not a plus for these people,

people usually
prefer to cook at home.

from U.S. are mainly located in San Jose,
