En esa misma cordillera volcanica se encuentra el Parque Nacional Braulio Carrillo.
El Parque Nacional Braulio Carrillo incluye los dos volcanes de la provincia, el volcan Barba y el volcan Cacho Negro, con ninguna actividad volcanica.
